Finland's ASH - knowledge, expertise, networking and communications
Finland's ASH
is a public health organisation, which was established in 1989 to develop
health-oriented tobacco policy. Our operations put emphasis on reducing and preventing tobacco use. We
aim for Smoke-free Finland by 2040. Another important objective is to improve
health-oriented alcohol policy.
Finland's ASH contributes
to national decision-making, actively builds networks with important operators
in the field, distributes information regarding tobacco and health policy,
provides expert services and participates in international projects.
Our communication
efforts are aimed at supporting the work of other public health organisations
and similar parties.
We are involved
in the planning, execution, evaluation and development of projects concerning
tobacco and health policies. We also stay up-to-date with the
public discussion and participating in it. We relay information regarding
international developments in the field to decision-makers, partners and our
members.
ASH is an
acronym of the words Action on Smoking and Health. Although organisations with
the same name can be found in other countries, we are an independent party.
Our operations are funded by the RAY (Finland's Slot
Machine Association).
